Technical Data
ELEFANT™ Sugar Dissolving Oil is designed to remove sugar particles, sugar crusts, and starch residues that adhere to processing or packaging equipment in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
It dissolves hardened deposits, frees moving components, and leaves a thin lubricating film that helps maintain reliable operation of processing and packaging equipment.
Product Function
ELEFANT™ Sugar Dissolving Oil is formulated to dissolve:
- crystallized sugar crusts
- caramelized sugar
- sugar spills and accumulations
- caramel and candy residues
- gummy drops and nougat
- starch
- dextran
- sorbitol residues
The formulation dissolves these deposits quickly without the need for hot water. Unlike many comparable products, it does not form a paste when in contact with starch.
The product also contains surfactants, allowing it to remove fat and grease residues in addition to sugar contamination.
Lubrication and Preventive Maintenance
After dissolving sugar or starch deposits, ELEFANT™ Sugar Dissolving Oil leaves a thin protective oil film on treated components.
This film:
- lubricates moving parts
- helps free springs, clamps, valves, belts, wheels, pistons, and pipes
- helps prevent renewed sugar accumulation
- reduces sticking of food products or packaging materials to treated surfaces
This makes the product suitable for both corrective cleaning and preventive maintenance in processing and packaging machinery.
Operating Temperature Range
5 °C – 85 °C
41 °F – 185 °F
Certifications and Compliance
- Approved for use in the food industry by DEKRA
- NSF H1 registered according to FDA regulation 21 CFR 178.3570
- Kosher certified
- GMO-free (Regulation 1829/2003/CE and 1830/2003/CE)
- Free of substances causing allergies or intolerances according to EU Regulation 1169/2011
Composition
ELEFANT™ Sugar Dissolving Oil is a formulated mixture of hydrocarbons and surface-active agents (tensides). The formulation combines dissolving, cleaning, and lubricating properties that allow the product to remove sugar and starch residues while supporting the smooth operation of processing and packaging equipment.
Residues of the product can be removed with water as part of normal equipment cleaning procedures.
Detailed composition information is available in the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
